As if the lovely free lunches and relaxed friendly atmosphere were not enough to keep me all warm and fuzzy in the Spark office, there is another tradition we have in the week we go to press that makes me like working here even more.
The couple of weeks leading up to the day we go to press are very busy - hence no blog from me for a few weeks, sorry! - but we have a tradition of sitting down together one afternoon and spending time to go through our headlines and make them a bit more interesting. It's a great democratic affair with lots of suggestions bandied around before we get the feeling that one stands out from the rest and that's the one we go for. We hope you like the results!
You'll find your brand new spring edition of The Spark at your local distributor now that we've dropped them off. We've already had a lot of positive feedback on the cover, which was Beatles-mad Darryl's original idea. As this is issue number 64, the inspiration was the album cover of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which features the song "When I'm Sixty-Four". You'll find members of the Spark team on there along with our heroes.

We've also had quite a few people wondering who all the people are, so we're preparing a silhouette quiz to go on the website. The person who can name the most will win a big smug smile and a pat on the back.
Good luck!
