My partner's father is Tony Neate, a sensitive who has been channelling the entity H-A since the 1950s. That's a rather bold statement for those who have never seen a sensitive, or channel, work. Depending on how sceptical you are, H-A is a sixth plane entity who has been drawn to our planet to help us through the transition into the Aquarian age which begins at the end of 2012, or it is an incredibly wise part of Tony's personality that can be accessed when he is in a state of trance.
The symbol above, which we used in our channelling sessions, combines the sacred feminine (the ankh, Venus), the masculine enrgy of the sun and the Earth (the equidistant cross and the blue circle). Note the purple!
I know a lot about Tony's work as a sensitive as I am writing his biography. I had my first experience of H-A a few months ago when I was interviewing Tony for the book. It was hard for me to judge what was going on when this strident voice came from Tony's mouth. It was more impressive than the many spirit mediums I have seen work, but that could be because we were working one-to-one. At one point, H-A asked my permission to send me some energy, and I really did feel a wave of peace and calm wash over me. I also felt a cold tingling in my hands. Of course, I could have imagined it in my wish to please Tony, but I don't think that was the case.
I decided to try out channelling for myself when I heard about the School of Channelling's Introduction to Channelling course, which took place in Great Malvern last weekend. I sent off a cheque the week before the course, the lateness perhaps showing my trepidation at what I was getting into.
The course was given jointly by Tony and Greg Branson, a healer with the Helios Foundation in London. There were 10 students, ranging from the curious like myself, through the adept wanting to extend their channelling abilities to the sceptical who had no idea why they were there. On the first day we did a couple of exercises, but most of the day was given over to preparation and information. Day two was given over to channelling - and a lot of it!
The introductory course is more about accessing that inner core of peace and calm within ourselves where the spark of creativity lies. We were learning how to slow down and just be, and through that to act directly from our hearts. It is amazing how much noise clouds our lives. By just being still and placing questions in our hearts we got very different answers from what we thought before we started the course. For example, I said on the first morning that I was there because I was spiritually curious. By day two, this had developed: I now know I was there to achieve balance between my head, my heart and my body. I have had many problems in my life because I have to understand everything rather than just going with my heart.
On the second day H-A addressed each of us individually through Tony, offering words of encouragement for each of us. I found it interesting that I felt the same cold tingling in my hands that I felt before. This happened again later in the day when Tony channelled again, this time to answer specific questions that we had.
I did find myself very confused by what came up during the channelling exercises. I saw lots of random images that didn't make any sense and I saw lots of colours, but I have always seen changing blotches of colour when I am in a semi-conscious state. I presented what I was seeing to the group, but I suffered from trying to make sense of it. Greg told me to stop trying to report things (well, I am a journalist!), but this just increased my confusion.
On the second day, I had a very profound experience. I could feel a great sense of calm and love, while I could see great swatches of purple. Greg gently suggested that I start to speak and let whatever was going to happen flow, but I couldn't find any words. So I gave the group lots of purple. I later asked H-A through Tony the significance of the colours I was seeing and he said it was related to the chakras, purple or violet being for the crown. Others in the group reported seeing purple, while one saw white, but they certainly felt that something was going on when I was talking.
We all had our experiences in turn and shared with the group. I could sense a change in atmosphere and energies in the room when we were sharing. It may have been confusing, but not in a bad way. It's made me want to explore more. The advice I will take away from the weekend is to move my focus from my mind to my heart. This will hopefully help me to achieve balance - with the aid of spiritual exercises, which I am doing every day.
The School of Channelling is planning another course later in the year in the South West. I would thoroughly recommend going on it.
